Story Board for Persuasive Presentation
Brenda & Ashley W.
Brenda, if you have something else in mind, please feel free to share and we can go with that. :) I truly don't mind. These are just some ideas I had rattling around in my head....

It is my understanding that we are to persuade our intended audience to use the inquiry method we have decided to display with the lesson plans we have written. I was thinking of doing an infomercial type of thing. Is that okay with you?

Intended Audience: Elementary School Teachers

We can use pics and put them into animoto or even put them into a video with a voice thread. I think the most effective way to be persuasive, might be to use a Web 2.0 tool that has a speaking option.

Scene one: A picture of a teacher behind stacks and stacks of papers.
Voice Over: Do you feel like there is never enough time in the day to get it all done?
Scene two: A picture of a teacher in an empty classroom.
Voice Over: Do you feel all alone when it comes to lesson planning?
Scene two: A picture of a "To do" list that goes to number 100...
Voice Over: Do you feel over whelmed with new things being added to your "to do" list?
Scene three: picture of teacher trying to grade papers
Voice Over: Do you hate grading papers?
......If you feel any of these symptoms, no worries, there is a solution. Your elementary school librarian is ready to collaborate with you! Not only will the librarian help cover TEKS, but they will side by side with you when it comes to planning!
(Now pic with teacher and librarian sitting together working on plan)
The librarian can alleviate some of the things off of your long "To do" list! Anything the librarian collaborates with the teacher on, the librarian will also help with any copies, charts or grading that needs to take place before, during or after the project!
This all sounds awesome and it is FREE!!! But wait there is more.......
The librarian has a new research method that helps students use higher order thinking skills. The librarian is teach you and your class how to use the new strategy called "Flip It!". Even first graders will be avid researchers by the time the lessons are done!
But wait there is more!!!!!
Just to prove how effective all of this is, we are going to include 3 sample lessons for you as an example!
With this method of research the librarian and teacher will help students engage what they already know about the topic, and help students focus on what they need to know about the topic. Student will also learn to continually refer back to their focus for their research so they can make sure they have answered their question or focus for research. In this inquiry method for research, students will always have the end product in mind.
**Let's try to problem solve this tomorrow. We don't have to use this, but I thought it might be kind of fun. Not really sure how we will make it work. Maybe you have a better idea.
We will be presenting our informaiton in a presentation format using Prezi. We will work off of our information provided on the wiki under the discussion section. We will incorporate our lesson plans and each of us will contribute to the creation of the Prezi. Brenda is going to put in the lesson and Ashley will be putting in the explanation and persuasion parts. Ashley will also put in the works cited from our "persuasive discussion page".
